Timeline of four attacks on women in Belfast as PSNI try to trace suspect

Three women are in hospital this morning after they were stabbed while walking on the streets of Belfast last night.

A fourth woman was assaulted during the same time frame on the Lisburn Road.

Police are investigating the incidents and are searching for a man believed to have been wearing a mask and riding a pedal cycle.

Timeline of incidents on Monday October 12:

  • The first incident occurred at approximately 8.10pm on Ormeau Avenue.
  • The second occurred at approximately 9pm on Donegall Square West.
  • The third occurred at approximately 10pm on University Road.

    The fourth incident, on Lisburn Road is believed to be connected with the stabbing incidents.

    The PSNI has not released any further information on this.

    From the PSNI's timings of the stabbing incidents, on bike it would take nine minutes to cycle from Ormeau Avenue, then to Donegall Square West and finishing at university Road.

    The attacks took place over 1 hour 50 minutes.

    From the first incident to the third is a 1.4 mile trip.
