Keane Mulready-Woods timeline: Missing teen, Drogheda shooting, and body parts in North Dublin - how it's unfolded so far

Fears are growing that the body parts found in Coolock and Drumcondra this week may belong to a missing Louth teen who was warned his life was in danger.

A major investigation is underway after the shocking Narco-style killing that's been linked to gangland players in both Dublin and Drogheda.

Gardai believe the horror shooting of an innocent taxi driver on Monday was a retaliation attack for the teen's suspected killing.

The intended target of the Drogheda gun attack was a passenger in the taxi at the time and managed to escape the scene.

Here's a timeline of events.

Sunday

A teenager from Drogheda was seen for the last time. Family and friends were extremely concerned for his welfare as he had previously been warned his life was under threat.

Early fears kick in he may have been dismembered by two rival gang members.

The teen had links to both sides of the Drogheda divide as well as a major player in North Dublin.

Monday

Drogheda 6.20pm

An innocent taxi driver escapes with non life-threatening injuries after being shot on the Bridge of Peace.

The driver's passenger, a man who is linked to Drogheda feud, managed to escape the scene.

Gardai believe the passenger who got away may be one of two men allegedly involved in the disappearance of the teenager, and that the shooting was a retaliation attack.

Coolock - less than four hours later

Gardai get a call after some local teens discover a bag in the Moatview area.

The bag contained a person's arm and legs, and the scene was immediately sealed off.

A huge search got underway to try and find the rest of the body while investigators immediately look at the possibility the parts belong to the missing teen.

Emergency services rush to a car fire at Trinity Terrace, off Clonliffe Avenue, in Drumcondra.

The blaze is put out quickly by firefighters and a severed head is found in the boot.

It's understood a head was found while sources say the identity of the person may be confirmed as early as Wednesday night.

Wednesday, Drogheda

Gardai investigating the teen's disappearance seal off a house in Rathmullen Estate.

Forensic examiners move in and it's understood blood stains are found.

Wednesday night, Drogheda Garda Station

Gardai officially confirm that identity of the body is that of the missing teen Keane Mulready-Woods.

They described his killing as "a brutal and savage attack on a child and is completely unacceptable in any normal democratic society".

At this stage three incident rooms have been set up in Drogheda, Coolock, and Mountjoy.

Gardai make an appeal for anyone with information including those who may know about Keane's last movements on Sunday.

They said: "It is important to remember that Keane was a child, a young boy, trying to find his way in life, he has now lost his life and his family have lost their loved son and brother."

She added: "Investigating Gardaí are making the following appeals:
• Information from anyone who has knowledge of Keane's movements from when he was last seen on Sunday 12th January 2020 at approximately 6pm in the vicinity of Dominic’s Bridge, Drogheda.
• Information or dashcam footage from anyone in the Moatview Drive, Moatview Gardens, Dublin 17 area on Monday 13th January 2020 from 9pm – 10pm

• Information on the movements of a blue Volvo S40 bearing false registration plates 141 MO 1925 which was abandoned and set on fire in the Trinity Terrace, Dublin 3 area on the morning of Wednesday 15th January at approximately 1.30am.
• Information on the whereabouts of a blue Volvo S40, 161 D 48646, which was the subject of an unauthorised taking from Sandymount, Co. Dublin on 15th December 2019.
• Information on the clothing Keane was wearing at the time he went missing."

Thursday

As the horrific news sinks in disgusting unverified images start to circulate on social media.

The pictures are alleged to be of Keane's dismembered body.

His already heartbroken family are left even more distraught and an appeal is made to people to stop sharing the images.

Suspects

Gardai have outlined two main suspects in the shocking case, both of whom have links to feuds in Coolock and Drogheda.

One of the men, from Dublin, has recently been released from prison.

The other is the man who escaped the hit attempt just hours before the gruesome discovery was made in Dublin.
