From concept to creation, it took five years for the Patek Philippe store to materialise at Iconsiam.
The grand opening was presided over by Patek Philippe president Thierry Stern, who emphasised how Thailand is an important market for the last independent, family-owned Genevan watchmaker.
"With PMT The Hour Glass, our trusted long-term partner, we are proud to have created this new Patek Philippe home in Thailand. In this new flagship boutique, our customers will experience not only timepieces that showcase our unique skills and craftsmanship, but also our passion for preserving our family legacy and pursuit of excellence."
Calatrava timepieces. Patek Philippe
The event was co-hosted by regional general manager Deepa Chatrath and PMT The Hour Glass managing director Narun Thamavaranukup, who invited guests to explore the 223m² space.
The design reflects the brand's rich heritage through several iconic elements. The external façade is fitted with a large animated screen backed by a special glass wall with the emblematic Calatrava cross etched into the glass. The interior boasts special lighting and an impressive Baccarat crystal chandelier hanging from the 5m-high ceiling.
Upon entry, one can see a wide range of timepieces on display in the watch gallery, while an exhibition area shows off Patek Philippe milestones over its 180-year history.
Further inside, the boutique opens up to a private lounge and sales salon, elegantly furnished with precious woods and plush leather upholstery. Within the private lounge is a library housing the company's horological and historical literature, allowing visitors to be further immersed in the Patek Philippe universe.
The sales salon and private viewing area are separated by a series of see-through rosewood-framed sliding panels adorned with Calatrava petals, resulting in an oriental look.
The immersive retail experience is enhanced by an inviting scent from Grand Quai, a fragrance inspired by honorary president Philippe Stern's love of sailing.
