'Time to shine!' - Chelsea fans have a demand for Gareth Southgate amid Raheem Sterling decision

Raheem Sterling will not feature for England against Montenegro on Thursday night.

The Manchester City winger had a bust-up with Liverpool's Joe Gomez during a training session on Monday as tempers from Sunday's game at Anfield boiled over.

As a result, Sterling won't be involved in the Euro 2020 qualifier as confirmed by the FA as well as Gareth Southgate.

"We have taken the decision to not consider Raheem for the match against Montenegro on Thursday," Southgate confirmed.

"One of the great challenges and strengths for us is that we’ve been able to separate club rivalries from the national team. Unfortunately the emotions of yesterday’s game were still raw.

"My feeling is that the right thing for the team is the action we have taken.

"Now that the decision has been made with the agreement of the entire squad, it's important that we support the players and focus on Thursday night."

But who will benefit from this decision?

Southgate does have plenty of options to cover for Sterling with Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho most likely to be given the nod to start in the wide areas with Harry Kane leading the line.

However, some Chelsea fans think Callum Hudson-Odoi should start at Wembley.
