Over-ambitious, delusional, incompetent and misguided are some of the kinder adjectives that could be applied to Prime Minister Liz Truss.
Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon was spot on when she said Truss was unfit for the job.
Rather like a stage magician, she believed she only had to repeat the magic word three times - growth, growth, growth - for it to magically happen.
She forgot that a magic wand is also needed to pull the rabbit out of the hat and unfortunately chose Kwasi Kwarteng for this particular task.
Time to exit stage left, Liz and let the next Tory tragi-comedy act walk on. Or better still, call an election and let Labour’s headline act take centre stage.
