Sleeves with impressive designs, some decorated and others extremely long, are now in fashion.
They are called a "design focused on sleeves" or "voluminous sleeves." Such clothes make wearers look stylish and offer a fresh perspective to help them get out of a fashion rut.
In recent years, many brands have brought out new collections featuring sleeves in fashion weeks in Europe, the United States and Tokyo.

Said fashion adviser Noriko: "As a rebound from the simple fashion trend called 'Normcore' [ultimate normal], the sleeve-focused style featuring bold designs might attract attention."
Some people might hesitate to don such clothing items because they are overly cute, but Noriko said, "Women can enjoy the sleeve-focused style if they choose muted colors such as white, black, deep blue and gray."
Noriko introduced outfits incorporating these tops.

First, she paired a deep-blue shirt with flared sleeves and purple pants. Every time a wearer moves, the cuffs swing, giving a graceful and elegant effect.
Since sleeve-focused tops have a strong presence, you should tuck the shirt into your pants or skirt so the entire outfit looks sharp.
A white top with swelling sleeves was also paired with wide pants. The style combines a soft and feminine top and men's-cut pants. Since the top and bottom are both voluminous, the shirt should be tucked into the pants to give a clean-cut impression. The high-waist design makes the legs appear longer.

Many sleeve-focused tops give a feminine impression.
"If you pair cute bottoms with such tops, it might give the impression that you are doing too much," Noriko said.
Choose simple or casual bottoms to highlight sleeve-focused tops, because such combinations will make the entire outfit look better balanced.

When pairing these tops with cute bottoms, color choices are important, Noriko said. For instance, she suggests a monotone outfit by pairing a black top with tulle sleeves and a tight, black-checkered skirt with white sneakers.
"When combining cute items, basic colors are good because they will not give an odd impression, even for women," she said.
There are various sleeve-focused designs such as lace sleeves, see-through sleeves and ribbon sleeves.
"Sleeve-focused tops will give an elegant impression by themselves, and such clothes are sold by low-priced brands, so I hope many people can easily try them," Noriko said.
