Time running out to register for 2020 Airbus Community Awards and win a slice of £20,000

Organisations across Bristol are being reminded to enter this year’s Airbus Community Awards – and be in with the chance of winning a slice of £20,000 cash.

The awards, run in association with the Bristol Post and Airbus, are back for 2020, with community groups, organisations and individuals being urged to register for a chance to win.

We are asking for our readers to nominate local organisations they feel are deserving of the award, which will be accompanied by a share of the money to fund a future project.

As well as local people nominating groups, local organisations can also nominate themselves and register.

Projects must be focused on the areas of education, environment and inclusivity.

But those wanting to get involved need to be quick.

The deadline for registering for the awards is looming and applications have to be in by midnight on Monday (February 24).

This year, instead of 30 groups from all the nominees being shortlisted, all organisations which meet the entry criteria will make it through to the public voting stage.

All registered groups will appear in the Bristol Post on Monday, March 9 when the start of the token collect begins.

People and community groups then collect the tokens over a daily period until April.

The winning groups with the most tokens will then be  announced - and will win a slice of the cash fund.

The awards, which have helped dozens of community groups across the Bristol area since their launch, are now in their fifth year.

Airbus Community Engagement Officer Hannah Hammond said: “Each year we are amazed and humbled to learn about the fantastic work carried out by local community organisations and we're looking forward to once again hearing about projects impacting youth, education and the environment and seeing how the public vote for their favourite worthy projects, so make sure to get your nominations in."
