Everyone feels that time is moving faster for them as they get older.
Whereas once summers seemed to last forever, now days become weeks become months become years at what seems to be an ever-increasing pace.
Now new research has shown that is the case - time is speeding up, or at least our perception of time.
Put simply, when people were younger they saw more new things and had more new experiences, but crucially our younger brains were able to process them much more quickly.
Speaking in Science Daily, researcher Adrian Bevan said: "People are often amazed at how much they remember from days that seemed to last forever in their youth.
"It's not that their experiences were much deeper or more meaningful, it's just that they were being processed in rapid fire."

As people grow older, two things happen.
First our brains become more developed and intricate, with the tangled web of nerves taking longer to get information from A to B. Like everything else those pathways also degrade with age, which adds to the fall off in processing speed.
Secondly, the actual amount of new experiences we have to take in decreases, while we increasingly ignore or tune out what is familiar in our surroundings.

So because older people take in less information in the same amount of time, time itself seems to speed up.
"The human mind senses time changing when the perceived images change," said Bejan.
"The present is different from the past because the mental viewing has changed, not because somebody's clock rings. Days seemed to last longer in your youth because the young mind receives more images during one day than the same mind in old age."
