Last season only the Carolina Panthers had a worse average time of possession than the Seattle Seahawks. This year it looks like we may be in for more of the same.
In Sunday’s 30-13 loss at home to the Los Angeles Rams, Seattle only managed to hold onto the ball for 20:37, while the Rams ate up almost double the time at 39:23.

Offensive coordinator Shane Waldron shares much of the blame with defensive coordinator Clint Hurt for this week’s poor performance. As a first-year playcaller, Hurtt deserves more time to get adjusted and figure out how to get off the field.
However, Waldron is now in his third year and this has been an ongoing problem. To be fair, sustaining drives is a difficult business at this level, but burning every page in the chapter of the playbook with screen passes would be a good place to start.
