Time is running out for Sutton Smith to make the Steelers roster

There was plenty of excitement around the pick of linebacker Sutton Smith by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Despite being a sixth-round pick, his highlights were enough to make you think Sutton would easily win a roster spot. However, through two preseason games, we still haven’t seen Sutton play and his abdominal injury could cost him a spot on the 53-man roster.

In Sutton’s absence, players like Ulysees Gilbert III and Tuzar Skipper have taken advantage. There are a limited number of linebacker spots on the final roster and Smith could easily get passed up. Early in workouts, the Steelers had tried Smith at fullback but all that seems to be a waste of time if he can’t even get to practice.

But I’m passing the question on to you. Will Sutton find a way to make the final roster or is the practice squad the best he can hope for at this time?
