PUNE: Congress state unit chief Nana Patole on Saturday said the time had come for people to throw out Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad municipal corporations as the party had failed to bring development to both the cities and was involved in corrupt practices.
“Citizens have understood now that Congress will take the city forward,” he said, while addressing party workers in Pune as a part of ‘Parivartan Yatra’.
He said, “The country is set to witness transformation. Congress will win Goa assembly polls with 2/3 majority. People’s sentiments are against BJP, which is facing a lot of opposition in other states as well, including Uttar Pradesh. The Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad will experience similar transformation in upcoming civic polls. The Congress will return to power in the civic bodies.”
Patole said the tenders of most PMC projects were inflated. A tender for 24x7 water supply project was inflated by over Rs 1,000 crore.
