'Time for Abraham, Mount and James' - These Chelsea fans remaining upbeat over FIFA transfer ban

Chelsea have seen their appeal against a two-window transfer ban from FIFA upheld.

That means the club would not be able to make any new signings until the summer of 2020.

The ban is in relation to deals for players under the age of 18 and following a lengthy investigation conducted by world governing body, the decision was made to punish the Blues with a transfer ban as well as a hefty fine.

And although the Blues have appealed, the Appeals Committee has upheld the original decision.

Chelsea could yet go to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in a bid to try and freeze or overturn the ban, but despite not being able to sign anyone in the next two windows, the Blues fans are upbeat about the news, with many looking forward to prospect of seeing some of the club's younger players given a chance.

One fan said : "Time for the likes of Reece James, Mason Mount, Loftus Cheek, Tammy Abraham, Odoi, Pulisic, Moses, Etc to get on their chance."

While another added: "I can actually see Chelsea's transfer ban being a blessing in disguise in the long term. Youngsters James, Tomori, RLC and CHO should all feature regularly next season. Abraham and Mount could, perhaps, too. There's definitely a route back into the side for Bakayoko and Zouma."
