Time and TV channel for Leo Varadkar's 'last interview as Taoiseach' on Prime Time tonight

Leo Varadkar will speak in possibly his last interview as acting Taoiseach live on RTE's Prime Time tonight.

The Fine Gael leader will discuss the latest developments in Ireland's response to coronavirus and Government formation talks.

An RTE spokesperson said: "In a substantial and wide-ranging interview, he will discuss his government's response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the decision to bring forward lifting of lockdown restrictions, the possibility of a resurgence of the virus, the historic coalition between Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil and the Green Party, and the prospect of Micheál Martin becoming Taoiseach."

Here's all you need to know about the interview;

What time and channel is it on?

Mr Varadkar will join presenter David McCullagh live in studio on RTE's Prime Time on RTE One at 9:35pm.

Why is it his last interview as Taoiseach?

A new Government is expected to be formed this week, which will see Fianna Fail leader Micheal Martin take over.

Mr Varadkar is unlikely to do any more interviews between now and then but could still set us on our way into phase three with a public briefing on Friday.

On 14 June 2017, he was appointed Taoiseach, the youngest ever at the time, and has been in charge for over three years now.
