Timberwolves rally, beat Hornets in OT, 125-120

CHARLOTTE, N.C. _ This time the comeback continued. This time the Wolves hit the big shots. This time the Wolves, down 10 to start the fourth quarter, down seven late in the game, found a way to win.

Wolves 125, Charlotte 120 in overtime.

Down seven late, 3-pointers by Zach LaVine, Ricky Rubio and Andrew Wiggins forced overtime.

And then the Wolves scored the first seven points in overtime and never looked back.

The Wolves scored the first seven points in OT, and did it in 62 seconds. Karl-Anthony Towns fed Wiggins for two. Kemba Walker was fouled but missed both free throw, then Gorgui Dieng calmly hit a corner 3. Rubio then stole the ball from Walker and fed Towns for a slam and a seven-point lead.

Nic Batum hit a 3, then Wiggins scored. Kaminski drove and scored.

Wiggins scored, but Cody Zeller answered.

But this time the Wolves wanted it more than the opposition.

Towns scored 27 points _ eight in overtime. Wiggins had 29, six in OT. Zach LaVine had 17 and Gorgui Dieng? He only scored seven points, but three of them came on a corner 3-pointer in overtime.

Both Shabazz Muhammad and Nemanja Bjelica scored 12 off the bench.

The Hornets were led by Kemba Walker's 22 points. But he missed a shot late in regulation that would have won the game, and those two free throws early in overtime.

Kaminsky had 21 and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist had 15, as did Marco Belinelli and Batum.

For the Wolves (6-14) it ended a four-game losing streak.

And everyone gets some credit. Just like Friday in New York, the Wolves were down 10 entering the fourth. And, again, a lineup mainly of bench players fought back and tied the game. It looked like the game was going to go the way Friday's did when Charlotte, with Walker leading the way, calmly built a seven-point lead.

But those 3-pointers helped erase that lead. And the way the Wolves played in overtime erased a lot of frustration that had been building during that four-game losing streak.
