Tim Yap and Javi Martinez Pardo are married!

MANILA, Philippines  (UPDATED) –  Multi-hyphenate entertainment personality, Tim Yap and his partner, events director Javi Martinez Pardo are married. On Monday, January 1, Tim shared a photo of the two holding hands with matching scarves embossed with the word "Loved."

"MARRIED," he captioned the photo.

Broadway star Lea Salonga also shared a photo of the two. According to her, the couple got married on December 25, Christmas Day, in the US.

"Finally, I was given permission to post this!!! I was asked by Tim and Javi to be a witness at their wedding which would take place Christmas Day 2017, and I said yes. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Tim this happy. Congratulations to you both!!!"

In an interview with Preview.ph, Javi, who works as the events director for Yaparazzi events shared how he and Tim planned their union, which was an incredibly simple affair compared to the big events they do. According to Javi, he and Tim share a love for musical theatre and decided to go to New York to catch a few shows. He also said that it was Tim's idea for their celebration to be simple

"It was actually Tim’s idea to keep it simple. We are used to creating huge and extravagant productions for our clients. I'm [usually] busy taking care of every single detail, but this time I wanted to enjoy with Tim and just focus on ourselves, without having to face an audience. This time, we wanted to focus on our message for each other," he said.

Javi also said that getting Lea Salonga to be their witness was a no-brainer since she and Tim are good friends.

"We have this shared love for Lea, and she and Tim have been friends for a long time. When I found out that we needed a witness for our ceremony, the first name that came into our mind was [hers]. We knew she was going to be in New York [at the time] to perform for Once on This Island as Erzulie the Goddess of Love, and true enough we were blessed by her love."

As for how you know if your partner is a keeper, Javi had this to say: "When you know you’ve found 'The One,' you stick to it, you work it out, through thick and thin, you don’t give up. You take it to the next level. When you believe you make each other better individuals and bring out the best in each other, I think it is but right to take it to the next level. Don’t be afraid of it. It’s something to look forward to and embrace."
