Report: Tim Tebow tries to quell Mets-Yanks, minor-league brawl

A brawl broke out in a Triple A game between Mets and Yankees affiliates Sunday.

And, Tim Tebow, of course, tried to be a peacemaker.

The melee started when the Mike Ford homered for Yankees’ affiliate Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Soon after, Syracuse Mets reliever Arquimedes Caminero threw at Breyvic Valeras’s back, leading to the pitcher’s ejection and the benches clearing.

Meanwhile, in other Tebow news, a fan paid a major price for one of the former football star’s baseball jerseys.

Per Syracuse.com:

Brandon Metz, who works in a bio-pharmaceutical lab in Whitesboro, topped all bidders with an offer of $890 in an on-line auction Sunday. He monitored the game on his computer and with two outs in the bottom of the seventh he dropped in his final offer just under the deadline. The jersey was a specialty look for “Paw Patrol” day.

Metz said he originally intended to cap his price at $450-$500, but when Tebow hit his first Triple-A homer earlier in the game he knew he’d have to open his wallet a little wider.
