Tim Tebow praises XFL, reiterates that he’s committed to baseball

If Tim Tebow wants to play football again, he has an offer on the table.

Last year, Tebow had an offer to play in the Alliance of American Football — in Florida, for a former Gators coach. Tebow turned down that chance and the AAF didn’t even last a full season before folding.

This year, Tebow has another offer from an upstart football league, the XFL. Tebow had good things to say about the league during a Mets spring training press conference earlier this week but he reiterated that he’s committed to pursuing a baseball career.

“I love what they’re doing,” Tebow said of the XFL, via Ralph Vacchiano of SNY-TV. “I think it has a chance to have success. And I think that’s great. And so I think there needs to be a place for a lot of players that are really good and should and could be playing in the NFL and are better than a lot of NFL players.

“And there’s a chance they’re going to be seen. So I think it’s awesome and I think it’s good for a lot of guys that are going to get a spot on an NFL roster because they’re going show a team that they’re worth it.”

Tebow noted that he has had a “couple conversations” with the XFL but ultimately, baseball is “what I wanted to do and pursue it and be all in.”
