Tim Sheens names two wingers on his All Stars radar for England clash

St Helens winger Regan Grace and Catalans Dragons star Fouad Yaha could line up for Tim Sheens’ Combined Nations All Stars side’s clash with England on June 25.

Sheens is currently assessing the players potentially available to him for the mid-season international at Warrington’s Halliwell Jones Stadium.

The veteran Australian will pick a side made up of Super League’s best ex-NRL players and also French, Scottish, Welsh and Irish stars for the June 26 clash.

Wales international Grace and France ace Yaha are on the radar of Sheens, who admits Grace in particular would be an eye-catching inclusion.

Sheens said: “It’s great to have the ability to have some of the British Isles players in the squad if they’ve earned the right because they’re playing well.

“Regan is certainly well on his way and is having a great start to the season.

“He has figured in our discussions, there’s no doubt, and both Fouad and Regan are on our list.

“Selection is basically going to be done by myself and Andrew Henderson.

“We’ve both mentioned Regan, there’s no problem with that, but it just comes down to the availability and being able to pick a player or two from Saints.

“At the moment, the guys from Ireland, Wales, and Scotland – there’s a good list there, so we’ve got no problem in selecting them.”

Sheens revealed he may also pluck someone from the second tier Championship.

But the rule stating no more than six players per club may come into play as he said: “There are a number of Championship players, including ex-Super League ones who’ve just left in the last year or two.

“There is a player or two in the Championship that will be worthwhile, depending on what we’re left with come the middle of June.

“Like I say, it comes down to availability of selection. Who’s fit?

“Who’s not carrying an injury and how many will we get to pick from each club, especially from St Helens?”
