Tim Settle sounds poised for a bigger role

It sounds like Washington Redskins defensive tackle Tim Settle might be headed for a second-year leap.

Settle, considered a steal in the mid-rounds of the 2018 draft, has spent the offseason bulking up and working on his quickness.

Understandably so — he has to keep pace with guys like Jonathan Allen and Daron Payne in the rotation.

Speaking of rotations, Settle has been in there with the first team and on third downs in training camp so far.

“I don’t know how long it will take,” Settle said, according to Redskins.com’s Ryan Fowler, “but once I get everything down I’ll be dominant.”

ESPN’s John Keim added more:

This is a big part of the reason the Redskins were so widely praised for drafting Settle — not only does he have massive upside, he makes a strength for the team even better.

Settle, should the offseason hype translate, is a big part of the reason his unit will once again give NFC East teams problems next year.
