Tim Elliott returns, takes on Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC on ESPN+ 19

After what will be more than 20 months away, former UFC flyweight title challenger Tim Elliott is set to return this fall.

Elliott (15-8-1 MMA, 4-6 UFC) will take on Deiveson Figueiredo (16-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC) in a flyweight fight at UFC on ESPN+ 19. MMA Junkie confirmed the matchup with a person with knowledge of the booking following an initial report from Combate.com. The person requested anonymity because the UFC has yet to make an official announcement.

UFC on ESPN+ 19 takes place Oct. 12, though a venue and location have not been made official by the promotion. The event reportedly will take place at Chase Center in San Francisco and will stream on ESPN+.

Elliott has not fought since his second-round submission win over Mark De La Rosa at UFC 219, which took place at bantamweight. He underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL after that, and now is set to return to flyweight after the lengthy layoff.

Figueiredo is coming off a unanimous decision win over Alexandre Pantoja at UFC 240. The performance earned him a “Fight of the Night” bonus and a spot in the title contention picture at 125 pounds. He initially called for an interim flyweight title fight, but instead he’ll take on Elliott.

The UFC on ESPN+ 19 lineup now includes:

  • Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Michelle Waterson
  • Kron Gracie vs. Cub Swanson
  • Mackenzie Dern vs. Amanda Ribas
  • Tim Elliott vs. Deiveson Figueiredo
