Tim Cahill sends message to Carlo Ancelotti after Everton beaten by Leeds

Carlo Ancelotti will not be fazed by Everton's home defeat to Leeds United, according to Tim Cahill.

Ancelotti's men were beaten 1-0 by Marcelo Bielsa's side in Saturday evening's Premier League clash at Goodison Park.

Brazilian winger Raphinha netted the only goal of the game in the 79th minute - his first for the club.

After an impressive start to the season, Everton have now lost four of their past five games.

But Cahill is not pressing the panic button just yet - and is sure Ancelotti will not be either.

“I think Ancelotti is not really fazed because he knows he’s got a good squad," the former Everton star told Sky Sports.

"He also knows that he’s tampered with the formation, with the five at the back against Fulham, he’s kept it in the first half.

"Then he tried to adapt and change it a little bit and go more attacking after conceding.

"With who he is, Everton are sitting OK. OK can get better, but they’ll look to improve and fill those holes at the back and try to get more points.”

There were plenty of chances at both ends but it took until 11 minutes from time for the deadlock to be broken, Raphinha firing past Jordan Pickford from just outside the area.

“Everton will be disappointed with how they’ve conceded this," Cahill added.

"It’s gone through the legs of (Ben) Godfrey. Pickford can’t see it, but it’s a great strike.

"I think he (Godfrey) has tried to make himself big. He thinks he’s safe, it’s not gonna go through his legs, but that’s the thing in football.

"You’ve got to block that and it’s a bit of luck, but it’s a great strike.”
