Tim Cahill believes Everton have found the key to unlocking Champions League football

Tim Cahill believes Everton have found the key to unlocking Champions League football.

The former Toffees favourite is delighted with the appointment of manager Carlo Ancelotti and predicted that the Italian can lead them into Europe.

And Cahill says that Ancelotti, along with owner Farhad Moshiri, can give Everton the platform to establish themselves as a top four club.

Cahill believes that the Blues lacked identity under previous manager Marco Silva

Speaking on an Instagram live with Jamie Carragher, he said: "I just didn't get anything from him. I got no excitement. No emotion.

"Now we have Carlo Ancelotti and I feel like he can attract a player.

"I feel like this could be the turning point for Everton. I feel like next season we can target top six or Champions League places."

He then went further, praising the ambition of owner Moshiri and saying that it is his influence that will see Everton return to the top four within two years.

"I expect Everton to finish in the top four in the next two years purely because of the owners," he added.
