Tilney Smith & Williamson to bring Birmingham teams together at 103 Colmore Row

A major new commercial development in Birmingham city centre has welcomed its second office tenant after a wealth management firm opted to bring its Birmingham teams into a single location.

Tilney Smith & Williamson has agreed a ten-year lease for 12,146 sq ft on the 14th floor of 103 Colmore Row which is due for completion later this year.

The firm was formed in September following the merger between Tilney and Smith & Williamson.

The company specialises in personal wealth management, including financial planning, investment management and personal tax advice, as well as assurance and accounting and looks after £54.8 billion on behalf of clients.

Currently based at 9 Colmore Row and Baskerville House, the firm will bring the two teams of 150 staff together in the new 26-storey building.

Professional services regional managing partner Stephen Drew said: "We are excited by our move to a landmark building in our growing city.

"Our professional services team has more than doubled in the last 12 months and, as our growth journey continues, we are delighted to be able to offer a contemporary and smart working environment for our clients and team."

103 Colmore Row is being developed by joint venture partners Tristan Capital Partners and Sterling Property Ventures on the site of the old NatWest Tower at the corner with Newhall Street.

It comprises more than 220,000 sq ft of office space and this latest pre-let adds to the recent deal struck with flexible office provider x+why and restaurant operator D&D London which is opening a top-floor restaurant and ground-floor café.

Paul Pritchard, a director with Tristan Capital Partners, said: "It is exciting to see forward-thinking businesses confirming their plans for how they intend to operate in the future.

"High-quality and innovative workspaces are becoming a key requirement for high-knowledge businesses and we are delighted to announce Tilney Smith & Williamson as the latest occupier to choose 103 Colmore Row as its new home."
