Tilda Swinton And Julianne Moore To Star In Almodóvar Film

Julianne Moore

Tilda Swinton is thrilled to be collaborating with acclaimed filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar and her co-star Julianne Moore in their upcoming movie, The Room Next Door. The 63-year-old actress expressed her excitement at the premiere of Problemista in New York City, highlighting her admiration for Moore and the joy of finally working together.

Swinton shared that she and Moore had crossed paths before and had always wanted to spend more time together. The opportunity to act alongside Moore in Almodóvar's film has allowed them to deepen their connection and enjoy each other's company while filming in Madrid.

The Room Next Door will mark Almodóvar's first venture into a full-length English-language feature, following his English-language short film debut at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. Swinton described the film as a delicate exploration of adult themes, particularly focusing on the complexities of friendship and the support good friends provide.

This project is not the first collaboration between Swinton and Almodóvar, as they previously worked together on the 2020 short film The Human Voice. Moore also confirmed her involvement in The Room Next Door through a social media post, expressing her gratitude for the opportunity to work with the esteemed director and Swinton.

Meanwhile, Swinton is also starring in Problemista, a film by Julio Torres, where she plays the role of an eccentric artist who hires an El Salvadoran immigrant, portrayed by Torres, in New York City. The movie follows their unique relationship as the immigrant seeks to secure his work visa and pursue his passion for toy design.

Problemista is set to hit theaters on March 22, offering audiences a glimpse into Swinton's diverse acting repertoire in 2023, which includes roles in Asteroid City, The Killer, and two short films. Swinton expressed her enthusiasm for working with Torres on Problemista, emphasizing her love for the film and the opportunity to collaborate with the talented writer and actor.
