A TikTok user named Sara Abdul sparked a revelation when she shared her shock at discovering the brand Elmlea is not actually double cream.
Sara Abdul shared the clip to TikTok, asking "how old were you when you found out that Elmlea is not actually double cream?"
She had realised the product she'd been buying from the supermarket for years wasn't what she thought it was and had said: "my whole life has been a lie!"

Yet as the Mirror reported, it turns out there are a lot of other people who were also clueless to the fact that Elmlea is a cream substitute.
Thousands of people liked the video, with hundreds responding to admit they had no idea it wasn't really cream.
In the clip Sara can be seen holding a pot of the stuff, while saying: "It's an alternative to cream, what the heck?
"It's actually a blend of buttermilk and vegetable oils. I'm so shocked."
She captioned her post: "MY WHOLE LIFE HAS BEEN A LIE."
More than 90,000 people watched Sara's discovery, with many taking to the comments to admit they also didn't know about this.
One person said: "I was today years old..."
Another wrote: "I was wondering this recently because the expiry date was so far away haha."
Someone else replied: "I found this out when I realised it didn't work while making a cheesecake."
"I bought it and my mum screamed at me for getting fake cream," confessed a different user.
Another person responded to say they only found out last year, saying: "I was 31. I'm still horrified."
