An Irish user on TikTok has seen his clip go viral after his take on a problem every person has faced at one time or another in this country.
In Ireland, we drink a fairly impressive 2.19kg of tea per capita every year, the second-highest rate on the planet (we see you Turkey, and we're coming for you).
Maybe it was the lack of alternatives for previous generations, but there's just something special about a cup full of boiling water and a teabag.
But there are some of you reading this who don't like tea.
Which makes things quite awkward when they are inevitably offered some by a friend/a friend's mam/a friend's grandmother when visiting.
And TikTok user @gaywolfhound summed it up rather perfectly in a clip on his feed.
The clip has been viewed almost 200,000 times already since it was uploaded, and people responded with some of their own experiences in the comments.
One person said: "Once, when I was in America and I was offered a drink, I said 'ah, I'm grand' and they said 'ok' and just MOVED ON! I was like 'wait, no I'm thirsty!'
Another made a reference to everyone's favourite housekeeper Mrs Doyle by commenting "Ah, go on, go on. go on"
While a third put forward that it could have something to do with history, saying :"It's a tradition from back in the famine. People were too polite to accept food knowing others had it rough too, so they offered three times"
