TikTok user blasted by Irish people for 'war crime' in attempt to make cup of tea

It wouldn't be a normal Irish household without an argument about tea breaking out at least once or twice a month.

You have the classic war which splits the nation in Barry's or Lyons (or, for some people. McGrath's) and that's before you get into the techniques of the tea making.

Some people like 'a drop' of milk, others a 'dollop' and some monsters no milk at all.

But out of all the terrible attempts we've seen at making a cuppa, this is the worst of the lot.

Let's take you through this viral clip on TikTok from Rhys Ward step-by-step.

They fill the cup with cold water.

Right off the bat, things have gone wrong.

Everyone knows that if you don't accidentally burn your mouth with the boiling or slightly-less-than boiling water when taking that first sip, it cannot truly be called tea.

They add the milk.

We can somewhat forgive the people who add the milk before the water in a regular cup of tea.

We cannot forgive this absolute monstrosity.

Then they add the teabag

Okay, so we're somewhat looking like a cup of tea at least - in the sense that there is now a tea bag in the cup.

This picture should really be marked NSFW (TikTok)

They stick it in the microwave.

Nope, we're done.

And so were the users on the R/Ireland subreddit.

One comment said there was a "special place in hell" for whoever created the video, with another saying it was a "crime against humanity"

A third added "you need to be fired directly into the sun" while a fourth said "Please mark this as NSFW"

However, our favourite response was one that sums up the Irish attitude to life.

Because where do we go when we see a crime? Not the Gardaí!

"Joe Duffy is gonna be busy tomorrow morning"
