TikTok stars the Smithy Family still harassed by trolls two years after house burned down

A TikTok family have said they are still being harassed by trolls nearly two years after their house burnt down forcing them to relocate.

The Smithy Family have more than 3million followers on TikTok and moved from their home in London to rural Devon after their house was "firebombed" in July 2021.

At the time dad Nick Smith said: "To the people who have done this, you could have killed our family and not only our family, my neighbours, my friends. It's unforgivable."

He now says that the family are still targeted by cruel trolls and are still being targeted even after moving somewhere quieter.

Nick said he had to pull his kids out of school and that less than a month ago police told him of an imminent threat to him.

Nick told The Sun: "Our house was firebombed and we spent a year moving around and Airbnbing because I had an Osman warning issued to me by police - a serious threat to life. I had to take the kids out of school.

"Less than four weeks ago I had the police at my door at 3am because someone had given them info that there was going to be an imminent attack on me. It was all a hoax to try and get the police to send a SWAT team."

He also says trolled tried to get his house "swatted", which is when an anonymous call to authorities prompt armed police to raid the home.

He said an anonymous caller in Manchester claimed there were firearms hidden in the family’s new home.

He says: “They wanted armed response teams to raid the house. It’s something trolls do, it’s called swatting.”

After the fire, supporters of the family started a GoFundMe appeal which raised more than £47,000.

Nick says they didn't take a penny of it since the house was insured and donated it all to charity.

However difficult life has been for the family, Nick says he wouldn't change a thing.

Before TikTok, he worked seven days a week as a builder, and now he enjoys more time with the family and his partner Jess.

He said: "I’ve had three solid years doing things with my kids that I wouldn’t have done and you can’t beat that. You have to look at life positively, you can’t have regrets.”
