TikTok star Anthony Barajas is currently in critical condition after he was caught up in a shooting at a moving theatre while watching The Forever Purge.
The 19-year-old influencer had attended the California-based Regal Cinema in Corona with his 18-year-old pal Rylee Goodrich when they were shot at on Monday.
The TikTok star's pal Rylee sadly died at the scene, at what was being described by police as an "unprovoked attack."
However, according to US outlets, the teenagers were only discovered by cinema staff after they entered the movie screen to conduct their clean-up. It is understood that under 10 people attended the screening but it is unclear when the shooting took place.
Corona Police Department Corporal Tobias Kouroubacalis told CBS : "At some point, the employee or employees walk inside the theater to conduct their clean-up or walk through and that's when the 911 call was placed".
"[They said] that there was an unknown problem, somebody was bleeding, there wasn't very specific information given."
An employee at the cinema also told the publication: "During the actual movie time, no one apparently heard the gunshot."
Following the attack on Monday, police officers confirmed that they had arrested a man in connection with the incident and he has been booked on suspicion of murder and robbery. The suspect - who had a ticket to the screening - is currently being held on $2 million bail.
Kouroubacalis also confirmed to reporters that they had located the suspect and stated that there was no information that the suspect and victims had any prior contact.
Anthony boasts just under 1 million TikTok followers and is known for sharing a host of videos about his life in Southern California. He has also previously shared several sweet posts with his family and in one added "I love my mom."
Anthony's family have set up a GoFundMe page as they called on friends and fans to help donate for his medical funds.
"We lost our amazing brother, son, and friend in a tragic accident and is on life support currently. Anthony was the light of so many peoples lives and there are tough times ahead, but we have amazing family and friends to get through this. Please donate for medical funds, etc. Thank you all and anything will help!" the page states.
