TikTok star has Instagram users in a panic as she shows off 'new screenshot' feature

One TikTok star has sent Instagram users into a panic as she shared the social media platforms new screenshot feature.

Users feared the days of sneakily sending a screenshot of a picture to friends were gone as Instagram users would now be able to see just who has screenshotted their post

The TikToker shared an image of the notification, which told her which account had screenshotted her post.

It looks as though Instagram is following other social media platforms such as Snapchat, which has allowed people to see when a message has been screenshotted for years.

However, although it might be nice to know just who has been creeping on your profile, many users were horrified.

Thinking they may have been caught in the act, one person commented: “I will delete my entire existence if Instagram allows this”.

Another said: “wait omg no I do this all the time is this for stories or posts ???”

While a third said: “I tested this and its true!!!! WHY INSTAGRAM”.

However, people’s fears were quickly calmed after some users confirmed just how the screenshot feature works after one girl asked: “Screenshot of what exactly, thank u for letting us know we gotta stay safe”.

People replied: “I believe it’s just of photos in chat; not story’s thank god”.

“I sent a photo and he screenshotted it and it sent me a notification”, another replied.

However, one other user shared how they have been able to remain undercover in their screenshotting quests, saying: “I haven’t updated my Insta in 2 years lol. I still have the heart notification symbol on the bottom of the screen.”
