TikTok shows Dubliners racking up costly pub bill during 'first night of freedom'

The capital was hectic on Saturday as Dubliners celebrated the easing of Covid-19 restrictions during Ireland's "first night of freedom".

With the 8pm curfew scrapped and nightclubs reopened, people all over the country enjoyed a night of drinking and dancing.

And while it's hard to put a price on the return of pre-Covid life, Saturday night turned out to be an expensive outing for some people.

One viral TikTok shows a hefty bill from a Dublin pub on Saturday.

The food and drink were good value, with a pint of Guinness costing a fiver, but the group still racked up a bill of over €450.

The tab had 26 pints of Guinness, plenty of cocktails, Smirnoff Ices and some food.

The receipt was from The Purty Central in Clondalkin and the TikTok was captioned "our first night of freedom in Ireland".
