Tightly held multi-million-dollar waterfront home up for sale

A waterfront home considered among Valentine's finest has been listed for sale for the first time in nearly 40 years.

Belle Property Charlestown's Anthony Di Nardo is marketing the luxury residence at 45 Dilkera Avenue with an auction guide of $2.95 million. It has undergone a significant renovation and has four bedrooms, three bathrooms and 180-degree views from Toronto to Eleebana.

Australian Property Monitors data reveals only a handful of properties in Dilkera Avenue have sold for over $2.5 million. Two have been above $3 million with the highest $3.7 million paid for No.71 in 2017.

The tri-level home has a luxurious top-floor master retreat, multiple indoor and outdoor living spaces and a double garage. It is open for inspection Saturday at 11am and set for auction on April 4.

First time listed

A home believed to have originally been part of a dairy farm in The Junction has hit the market for the first time in over 120 years.

Patrick Collins, of Raine & Horne, is selling the original three-bedroom house at 173 Corlette Street with a guide of $1.2 million.

It is positioned on a corner block 466 square metres in size with frontage to Kemp and Corlette streets and Mr Collins described it as a "blank canvas" with scope for redevelopment, subject to council approval.

He was expecting "strong interest" for the property, which is set for auction on March 26 and open for the first time Saturday at 11am.

Auction action

Robinson Property reported four registered bidders for a four-bedroom home on a corner block backing on to Merewether's Gibbs Brothers Oval at 68 Curry Street on Merewether before it sold under the hammer for $1.98 million last Saturday.

First National Newcastle City have reported good attendance through open homes for a renovated circa 1918 home with four bedrooms and two bathrooms at 19 Percy Street in Hamilton ahead of its auction today. It goes under the hammer at 3.30pm with a guide of $1.25 million to $1.35 million.

They also have a four-bedroom at 81 Morgan Street, Merewether going to auction at 9.30am with a guide of $1.3 million to $1.4 million and a three-bedroom apartment in the David Cohen and Co Bond Store building at 9/28 Stevenson Place in Newcastle East at 1pm with a guide of $1.1 million to $1.2 million.

Listings over $1m

A price guide of $1.1 million has been set for a four-bedroom home on a north-facing block at 54 Alexander Street in Hamilton. Robinson Property are marketing the 1930s house on a block 539 square metres in size and reported "a huge turn out" through its first open last weekend.

The Agency have a two-storey residence with five bedrooms and three bathrooms on over 1000 square metres of land at 160 Dudley Road in Whitebridge on the market with a guide of $1.13 million to $1.23 million.

An absolute waterfront home at 30 Skye Point Road has been listed by First National Altitude for $1.95 million.

Listings $500,000 to $1m

Dalton Partners' Anthony Merlo does not expect his Cooks Hill listing at 3/57 Union Street to last long. He described the 10-year-old townhouse with two bedrooms and two bathrooms as "a very affordable inner-city investment or home" with an asking price of $758,500.

Walkom Real Estate have a two-bedroom cottage at 6 Redman Street in Islington for $595,000 to $650,000. Raine & Horne have a three-bedroom terrace with a guide of $725,000 at 56 Bourke Street in Carrington.

Listings under $500,000

Raine & Horne are selling a four-bedroom home at 23 Lugar Street in Kotara South with a guide of $460,000. Belle Property have a one-bedroom apartment for $390,000 to $420,000 at 401/2 Honeysuckle Drive in Newcastle and First National Altitude are selling a two-bedroom townhouse at 4/1 Brown Street in Cardiff for $400,000 to $440,000.
