UPDATE
Tighes Hill Primary principal Tony Selwood has thanked parents for their "patience and understanding" after a parent helper at the school tested positive for COVID-19.
"This parent was not involved with any class groups but was part of the school's Kindy Club activity last Tuesday morning, 10 March 2020," Mr Selwood told families.
"The Department of Education works closely with NSW Health in responding to COVID-19 cases and acts on the expert advice of NSW Health.
"People assessed as being a close contact of the parent concerned have been identified by NSW Health and been given medical advice.
"NSW Health has also assessed a number of casual contacts of the parent, and those people have been provided with appropriate medical advice.
"If your family have not been contacted with information about being either a close contact or a casual contact, NSW Health has decided your child has had no connection with the parent when the parent was at the school on 10 March 2020."
The school has postponed its scheduled parent teacher interviews due to begin next week.

The school said in a Facebook post on Wednesday night that the parent had not engaged in any regular classroom or school activities.
The school said NSW Health had completed its contact tracing process last night.
The Department of Education said NSW Health advised the school late on Wednesday afternoon about the case and was on site "promptly" to work with principal Tony Sellwood and the director of educational leadership for the Callaghan Principal Network, Josie Bailey.

"NSW Health thoroughly assessed the situation and completed their contact tracing process," the department said.
"The school has been cleaned in accordance with NSW Health advice ready to resume as normal [on Thursday]."
"The Department of Education will continue working with NSW Health to monitor the situation and the school will keep the school community informed of the situation."
