The Tigers activated first baseman Miguel Cabrera from the 10-day disabled list and optioned first baseman/catcher John Hicks back to Triple-A Toledo.
Cabrera had been on the DL with a right groin strain. The Tigers are facing right-handed pitcher Corey Kluber of the Indians at 7:10 Tuesday night. Cabrera is batting .440 (22-for-50) with five home runs and 10 RBIs in his career against Kluber.
Cabrera was batting .268 (15-for-56) with two doubles, three home runs and nine RBIs in 16 games before going on the DL.
Hicks did well in Cabrera's absence, batting .423 (11-for-26) with three doubles, one home run and seven RBIs in seven games for the Tigers.
