Richmond have axed ruckman Ivan Soldo after last week's draw with Fremantle, but star forward Tom Lynch returns for Sunday's crunch AFL clash with Brisbane at the MCG.

Soldo tallied 10 disposals and 22 hitouts against the Dockers, but it wasn't enough for him to hold his spot as Richmond's finals hopes go on the line.

Lynch returns from a hamstring injury, while Jack Ross has also been included in the side.

Soldo and Hugo Ralphsmith were axed.

The Lions were dealt a blow when star defender Daniel Rich was ruled out with concussion.

Keidean Coleman replaces Rich.

West Coast welcome back Nic Naitanui, Willie Rioli, Connor West, and Jack Petruccelle for Sunday's match against Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium.

Alex Witherden (hamstring), Rhett Bazzo (ankle) and Josh Rotham (ankle) were forced out with injury, while Josh Kennedy has been rested.

Last year's No.5 draft pick Mac Andrew will debut for Gold Coast, with the Suns also naming Malcolm Rosas Jnr.

Charlie Ballard (knee) and Sam Flanders (omitted) go out of the side.

North Melbourne lost Aaron Hall, Aidan Corr and Paul Curtis to the health and safety protocols for Sunday's encounter with Essendon, while Flynn Perez is suspended.

Mid-season recruit Kallan Dawson has been named for his AFL debut, while Nick Larkey Jack Mahony, Jackson Archer and Charlie Lazzaro are all back for the Kangaroos.

Essendon midfielder Andrew McGrath will miss after entering the health and safety protocols, while ruckman Andrew Phillips has been rested.

James Stewart and Massimo D'Ambrosio come into the side.

In other news, Adelaide's Riley Thilthorpe has been withdrawn due to injury for Saturday's clash with Carlton.

St Kilda's Darragh Joyce is a late scratching for Saturday's match against Hawthorn, while Geelong's Sam Menegola (knee) has been replaced by Quinton Narkle on the emergency list for the encounter with the Western Bulldogs.
