Tiger Woods says Brooks Koepka ghosted him over British Open practice round

Hey, when you’re one of the best golfers in the world and you’re heading into a major with an advantage, you’re going to use that to best your opponents.

That appears to be what Brooks Koepka is doing with Tiger Woods at the British Open.

Koepka’s caddie is Ricky Elliott. Elliott just so happens to have grown up playing Royal Portrush since he’s from the area. And — as you probably know — Royal Portrush is hosting the Open Championship this week.

“Luckily my caddie has played this golf course I can’t tell you how many times, so that’s a big advantage,” Koepka told reporters Tuesday, via Golfweek. “Every hole I just step up on, ‘You tell me what to do, you’ve played it more than anybody.’ So just let him figure it out.”

Woods probably knows that and maybe he wanted to see if he could get any tips on the course by playing a practice round with Koepka. But when he texted “Brooksie” to ask if he could tag along for a round, he heard “nothing.”

This is also a good time to tell you that Koepka revealed on Tuesday that he only practices before majors and not before other tournaments, which is just incredible when you see his performance in all tourneys in the past few years:
