After ending an 11-year wait for a 15th Major title at the Masters last month, Tiger Woods missed the cut at the PGA Championship this week.
Woods, 43, had not played a competitive round of golf since winning at Augusta National in April, to claim a fifth jacket, but missed the weekend by a shot having been tamed by Bethpage Black, the course where he won the US Open in 2002 as the only player under par.
Woods finished day two 17 shots behind leader and playing partner Brooks Koepka after shooting rounds of 72 and 73 after illness meant he could only play nine practice holes ahead of the Championship.
Speaking after his second round, Woods was not too downbeat over missing the US PGA cut for the fourth time in 20 starts.
"I'm the Masters champion and 43 years old and that's a pretty good accomplishment," he said.
