Tiger Woods is still not able to play golf six months on from a horror car crash in Los Angeles, according to reports.
The 16-time major winner was involved in the accident in February while in the area for the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club, which he was unable to play in due to ongoing back problems.
As a result of the horrific crash Woods suffered severe injuries including ‘open fractures affecting the upper and lower of the tibia and fibula bones’.
The day after the crash Anish Mahajan, MD, - chief medical officer at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center - who released a statement on Woods' Twitter page surrounding the golfing great’s condition.

The statement said: “Mr Woods suffered severe orthopaedic injuries to his lower right extremity that were treated in emergency surgery by orthopaedic trauma specialists at Harbor-UCLA Medical Centre, a level one trauma centre.
“Comminuted open fractures affecting both the upper and lower portions of the tibia and fibula bones were stabilized by inserting a rod into the tibia.”
Six months on, the joint most successful PGA Tour golfer of all time has since been improving, after fellow golfer and good friend to Woods, Rickie Fowler gave an update on his health at last month’s 3M Open.

Fowler said: “I know he’s been getting after it as far as rehab goes, that takes up most of his day. I know as kind of stubborn as he is, being as big of a golf nerd as all of us are, he’s putting the work in.
“I know it's been tough. It's a long road till now, he's got a long road ahead, but he's putting the work in.”
Following on from this Woods was pictured applying a large amount of weight on his surgically-affected leg outside a hotel in Beverly Hills at the end of July, giving many fans hope he would soon be returning to the golf course.
However, a source has since told People that the 2019 Masters Champion is yet to return to any form of golf since his injury.
They said: “Tiger is in good spirits and doing well, but he has not been able to play any golf at all, he has not been to The Woods Jupiter, his south Florida restaurant, since before the accident in California."
Many speculated that the American could make a return this November, after he recently announced that he would return to host the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas, after the event was postponed last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Despite the announcement Woods gave no clue as to whether he would be playing in the event at the end of this year.
