Tiger Woods jump-starts his round with a hole-out from the bunker

Tiger Woods might want to think about exclusively wearing mock turtlenecks for the rest of the season.

After two average rounds at Muirfield Village left the 2019 Masters champion seven shots behind the leaders, Woods switched to the mock turtleneck look he used throughout the week at Augusta National Golf Club, and immediately began a charge up the leaderboard.

At the 466-yard par-4, Woods missed the green with his approach from the fairway, but holed out from the bunker with a phenomenal shot.

Woods saved par at the next hole after another excellent shot from the sand left him with a tap-in.

Woods found the fairway again at the third – and gave himself a two-foot birdie putt with a near-perfect approach from 126 yards out.

Woods took advantage of his firs par-5 of the day, safely finding the fairway with a wood off the tee to set up a 237-yard approach to 18 feet. Woods two-putted for birdie to get to 5-under for the tournament.

Woods’ round took a disastrous turn at the 10th, after he found the bunker with his drive. Tiger’s second shot caught the lip of the bunker and rolled back down to his feet, and he carded a double-bogey on the hole. Woods pulled back a few shots with birdies at 15 and 16, but bogeyed the 18th to finish a frustrating back nine well behind the leaders.
