Tiger Woods' Irish appearance off as JP McManus Pro-Am at Adare Manor is postponed

The star-studded JP McManus Pro-Am has been pushed back 12 months to July 5th and 6th 2021.

Due to take place this summer at Adare Manor on those same July dates, a host of the world's top players were due to return to the lucrative fundraising event that was being held for the sixth time - and for the first time in a decade.

World number one Rory McIlroy along with Tiger Woods, Jon Rahm, Justin Rose, Phil Mickelson and Sergio Garcia were among the names pencilled in for the Limerick get-together, as well as film stars Mark Wahlberg, Hugh Grant and Jamie Dornan.

A total of €140,565,878 has been raised since 1990 (including a €40m Benevolent Fund established five years ago in the absence of a Pro-Am that year).

All tickets purchased will be valid for the rescheduled event.

"We're all very disappointed with this news and we would like to thank everyone involved with the Pro-Am for their understanding and patience," said McManus.

"We are already working on the 2021 event and are positive that we will once again raise many millions for charitable organisations most in need, and deliver the world-class golf event we all had such great excitement for.

"To all ticket holders, please hold onto your ticket caps and we look forward to seeing you in 2021 for what promises to be an exciting tournament of world-class golf.

"We would also like to convey our gratitude to the European Tour for their continued support of the event. We hope everyone will stay safe during these unprecedented times."
