Tiger Woods is coming off a 10th-place finish at the WGC-Mexico Championship, and there was plenty of optimism from the TIGER BACK crowd heading into this week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill.
That came to a halt on Monday.
Tiger announced in a pair of tweets that he would be withdrawing from the Arnold Palmer Invitational, citing a neck strain. The news was a tough blow for golf fans as Tiger traditionally plays great at Bay Hill. He’s won there eight times, including four times in the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
It’s also worth noting that if the injury timeline is correct, Tiger would have been playing with a neck strain at the WGC-Mexico Championship.
Golf fans weren’t exactly pleased with Tiger’s announcement. Just check out the mentions.
The Players Championship is set for March 14.
