Tiger Woods earnings to ‘go stratospheric’ after remarkable Masters win

Tiger Woods will become the best-paid sportsman in terms of sponsorship and endorsements over the next five years after his dramatic Masters win.

That is according to sports marketing consultant Nigel Currie, who believes Woods’ earnings will soar to “a new level” following his first Major triumph in 11 years. The 43-year-old (above) has a Nike contract estimated to be $20million a year (£15.2m) but that could double with fresh terms.

“He is going to be the No1 sports star for off-pitch earnings for the next five years,” Currie told Standard Sport. “The potential is enormous because there is no bigger individual sports star.

“He is fit, his personal life seems to be sorted and he is going to go stratospheric in terms of his potential earnings.”
