With an 8:50 a.m. pro-am tee time set for Wednesday at Medinah Country Club, Tiger Woods says he expects to play this week in the BMW Championship.

“I feel good,’’ Woods told reporters Tuesday after arriving at Medinah. “Feel a lot better than I felt last week. Felt good this morning, so I thought I’d give it a go.’’

Woods, who withdrew from the The Northern Trust last Friday with a mild oblique strain after shooting 75 in the opening-round of the first FedEx Cup playoff event, is No. 38 in the FedEx Cup. He has won the PGA Championship twice at Medinah.

This is the final event to get into the top 30 and qualify for the Tour Championship at East Lake.

Medinah has not held a big event since the 2012 Ryder Cup, where Europe rallied from a 10-6 deficit to win. Among the top 70 who advanced to the BMW Championship is Ian Poulter, who birdied the last five holes that turned the momentum to Europe.
