Tiger King star Joe Exotic in hospital over fears he 'caught coronavirus in prison'

Star of new viral Netflix show Tiger King Joe Exotic (real name Joseph Maldonado-Passage)has been hospitalised, it has reported.

There are fears the TV sensation may have caught covid-19 in the Texas prison where he is currently serving time for 17 charges of animal abuse and two counts of murder for hire.

According to the Mirror, his 24-year-old husband Dillon Passage, recently spoke out to say he was concerned Joe would contract the potentially deadly virus, as it was present in his last prison.

The Tiger-lover had been self-isolating but may have contracted the virus, according to a report from the prison.

Television station KFDX-TV's website  Texomashompage.com  initially reported he has tested positive for COVID-19 and has been transferred to a hospital.

Speaking to Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM Radio Andy show on Wednesday, Dillon said: "We speak like three to five times every day, but since he's been moved to this new facility, they are putting him on a COVID-19 isolation because of the previous jail he was at, there were cases.

"I've yet to speak to him since he moved."

Dillon then confirmed that Joe "is in his own COVID-19 quarantine".

He continued: "From what I know, yes. From what he told me."
