Joe Exotic may be one of the few people to not have seen Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness on Netflix but his husband said he is definitely loving the attention.
The 57-year-old was jailed for 22 years after being found guilty of plotting to murder his nemesis, animal rights activist Carole Baskin.
Being locked up has meant that he hasn't had a chance to see the finished version of his life as a big cat zookeeper in Oklahoma.
Dillon Passage, Exotic's fifth husband, has said that Joe is definitely enjoying the attention it has brought as he has been inundated with fan mail to the prison where he is serving his time.
Speaking with Andy Cohen on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy, Joe’s husband Dillon Passage revealed that his hubby is lapping up the reaction.
Dillon said: "He’s in jail, so he can’t necessarily watch it, but once the show dropped he was getting hundreds and hundreds of emails to his jail mail, and he was ecstatic.
"It was a lot of good feedback, and he likes attention, obviously.
"He calls himself Joe Exotic the Tiger King," Dillon laughed before adding Joe is "100 per cent" enjoying being thrust into the limelight again.
Tiger King is not the first time that Exotic threw his zoo's doors open for a documentary to be made.
In 2011, Louis Theroux got up close and personal with the controversial owner of Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park.
Theroux has taken to Twitter to say that he has watched the Netflix documentary and that he has things to say about it.
He tweeted: "Just finished watching #TigerKing on #Netflix. I have a lot of thoughts which I’ll post in a considered form in the next day or two."
Louis Theroux's America’s Most Dangerous Pets documentary followed Exotic at his zoo a decade ago.
Exotic worried Theroux with his assertion that if he got in difficulties in the clutches of a lion, then Exotic would shoot the documentary maker rather than a big cat.
He argued though that this would be a 'nicer' death for Theroux as being mauled by a lion would be a fate worse than death itself.
