Tiger King's Jeff Lowe claims he saved Carole Baskin's life as she takes over Joe Exotic's zoo

Tiger King star Jeff Lowe has claimed he saved Carole Baskin's life from Joe Exotic.

Joe is currently serving 22 years in prison for animal abuse and hiring a hitman to kill Carole.

Jeff claims "Carole would no longer be here" if he hadn't helped imprison Joe.

He's spoken out against her after the news that Carole been handed control of the zoo that featured in the series.

The judge has given him 120 days to get himself and all of the animals off the property.

He said in a statement: "Although I am not personally named in the lawsuit, it appears that Carole Baskin and her desire to exact revenge against Joe Exotic trumps the livelihood of the families that came together to save her life.

"Without our efforts, it is well known that Carole would no longer be here."

Joe handed control of the zoo to Jeff in 2015 but this week a judge ruled the transfer was fradulent.

As Carole never got the money she won in a $1million judgment against Joe she has been given the land to recover some of what she is owed.

Jeff said he had been expecting Carole to be given the zoo.

He continued: "We anticipated Carole Baskin gaining title to the former park that once belonged to Joe Exotic many years ago.

"It is my understanding that she will also be taking the cages from the zoo, which thankfully means that the animals that she has will finally have the proper amount of space to move around."

Mirror Online has contacted Carole's reps for comment.

Jeff revealed that the animals will be rehomed at his new zoo, Tiger King Park, which is set to open in Thackerville, Oklahoma, later this year.

He added: "Please don't worry about our animals. As you saw on the Netflix documentary, I have been building the greatest Tiger Park the world has ever seen."
