Tiger King's Carole Baskin gives update on volunteer who was mauled by tiger before slamming Netflix show

Tiger King star Carole Baskin has opened up about a Big Cat Rescue volunteer who was mauled at the ranch yesterday.

Candy Crouser, 69, was on duty at the ranch in Florida when Kimba, a rescued tiger, mauled her arm.

A statement from the ranch read that Ms Crouser had broken protocols by sticking her hand into the cage.

During an exclusive TV interview with Loose Women today, Carole revealed that doctors had managed to save Candy's arm despite the damage suffered by Kimba.

Speaking to the Loose Women panel, Carole said: "She's recovering in the hospital, it looks like they were able to save her arm and we were so thankful of that."

Carole and the ranch are now waiting on an update from Candy's husband to see how she's recuperating.

The questions swiftly moved over to Carole's appearance in the show Tiger King, which is Netflix's biggest show ever and was watched by millions of Brits earlier in 2020.

You can see in the video below her reaction to Tiger King.

'We were just gobsmacked' - Carole Baskin reveals what she thought when she watched Tiger King for the first time

However, Carole slammed the shows producers, claiming the show turned out nothing like she was told it would:

"We worked with the producers for five years because they said they were working on a programme which would be the equivalent to Black Fish for big cats..."

"That (Black Fish) pretty much ended the practice of breeding orcas and to have them in captivity.

"So, we thought this was going to be a great thing, because big cats don't belong in cages.

"So, for five years, we were thrilled to participate with them for what we thought we were producing, then just like everyone else around the world, we sat down and binged it."

Carole then proceeded to slam the producers of the show:

"At the end, we were just gob-smacked, we could not believe that's what they came up with after what we thought they were doing."

Netflix responded to Loose Women with "no comment" however, the producers maintained that 'as with any show which is produced over five years, no-one could have predicted where the show would end' and that Carole was not mislead in anyway or at any point.
