Tiger King's Carole Baskin breaks silence and says sanctuary may be forced to close

Tiger King star Carole Baskin has revealed her business may be forced to close after the coronavirus pandemic as she broke her silence.

The cat sanctuary owner had refused to give interviews following the global success of the Netflix series after her rival Joe Exotic accused her of murdering her husband in the show, something she obviously denies.

But Carole was tricked into giving her first interview by YouTube star Archie Manners and his prankster pal Josh Pieters.

Archie convinced Carole that Jimmy Fallon wanted to interview her and used audio clips from old shows to construct questions so she'd believe she really was talking to the TV presenter.

She spoke about how the sanctuary is coping in the coronavirus lockdown, revealing she's had to sack half her staff and is having to work seven days a week.

Carole explained: "My daughter and I still come into the sanctuary every day because we have to take care of all the big cats here.

"Unfortunately due to the loss of tourism revenue we've had to let go of about half of our staff and thankfully all of our animal care is done by volunteers.

"The animals are still getting their daily care but it means all of us are having to work double time to make sure that happens."

She admitted that the coronavirus pandemic may mean they never open again.

Carole continue: "I work seven days a week but I'm a workaholic so I really love doing this work.

"After Covid-19 I just don't know if we're ever going to be able to do tours again."

Carole has avoided talking to the media since Tiger King debuted on Netflix as she slammed the show for delving into the theory that she murdered her husband.

To get her to agree to his interview, Archie posed as an employee from a production company and insisted that they would only ask her about cats.

They sent her a Zoom link and told her that Jimmy would be asking the questions over the phone so it wouldn't break their cover.

Carole hasn't responded to the prank yet.
