Tiger King's Carole Baskin applauds 'clever' pranksters who tricked her into chat

Carole Baskin congratulated the jokers on tricking her into her first TV interview since Tiger King.

Pranksters Josh Pieters and Archie Manners claimed to be working on the Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon when they scheduled in an interview with the global star.

The Big Cat Rescue star has famously turned down interviews after the Netflix docuseries was streaming.

In good humour, Carole admitted she was "suspicious" because the questions appeared to be taped but she hailed their efforts as a "fun prank".

The cat lover confessed it was a "very welcome good laugh" as isolation amid the coronavirus pandemic raged on.

She told US Weekly : “I was suspicious as we were doing it because the questions appeared taped. But had no idea it would turn out to be such a fun prank.

"It gave us a very welcome good laugh. I appreciate their cleverness and that they created their video in a way that I don’t feel was in any way mean-spirited.”

Carole was swayed into doing the TV interview on the promise she was only asked questions about cats, not the Netflix show which propelled her into the limelight.

The pranksters even managed to convince her to wear her famous flower crown.

Pieters and Manners proceeded by downloading stars talking about cats from old episodes of Saturday Night Live to compile their interview.

Carole was told she wouldn't be able to see Jimmy because he was filming from his home.

The fake interview went live on YouTube on Sunday.

In the chat, Carole divulged she has had to "let go about half of our staff" because the Big Cat Rescue was forced to close down amid quarantine.

The cat lover claimed her remaining volunteers were having to pick up double the amount of work to care for the 55 cats.
