Tiger King fans feel 'betrayed' after discovering he doesn't even sing his own songs

Tiger King fans say they feel a bit betrayed after discovering Joe Exotic doesn't even sing his own songs.

A number of clips from Joe's music videos were shown throughout new Netflix documentary Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness, but not everything is as it seems.

It turns out that eccentric star Joe Maldonado-Passage, who is currently serving a 22-year sentence for attempting to facilitate the murder of his nemesis Carole Baskin, who runs rival Big Cat Rescue, as well as a string of animal cruelty charges, doesn't actually sing the songs.

Joe simply lip-syncs and fakes playing the guitar along to the tracks recorded by The Clinton Johnson Band, who are hoping they could land a record deal off the back of the series.

Band member Vince Johnson, who stars alongside Danny Clinton, told TMZ he's been inundated with calls from journalists since the show landed on Netflix, but he wishes it was record labels causing his phone to ring off the hook instead.

Vince and Danny recorded three albums worth of songs together before Danny passed away in October from a heart-related issue.

But after the revelation, fans of Joe's unique songs, including Here Kitty Kitty, in which he accused rival Baskin of murdering her husband and feeding him to her tigers - something she denies - are gutted to find out it's not him singing them.

One posted on Twitter : "Wait, Joe Exotic Didn’t Write Or Sing His Songs In Tiger King?"

Another wrote: "Wait, that WASN'T Joe Exotic's voice singing those songs? I'm dead inside now."

"Joe Exotic doesn't sing his own songs. I'm heartbroken," a third exclaimed.

And another tweeted: "I just found out that #JoeExotic doesn’t actually sing any of those song on #TigerKing they are done by a band he isn’t a part of. Not gonna lie, feel a little betrayed."

The three albums of songs created by The Clinton Johnson Band are said to be a lot like the ones featured in Tiger King, except they're not about big cats.

The band had some prior success having their songs featured in films and TV shows, but Vince is hoping Tiger King could be the big break they've been waiting for.

Vince says they got involved with Joe after creating a theme song for his TV show and park.

The band went on to create around 20 songs for Joe.

And Vince says that as far as he knows, Joe has never sung professionally or played an instrument in his life.
